Deep-Tech Startup To Use Funds For Thruster Qualification And In-Orbit Demonstration Mission

Chennai based deep-tech startup Dream Aerospace has raised ₹10 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by 247VC and Campus Angels Network (CAN), as the company looks to accelerate the development of indigenous propulsion technologies for the rapidly growing small satellite market.

The round also witnessed participation from Chandigarh Angels Network and several angel investors, reflecting increasing investor interest in India’s emerging spacetech ecosystem.

The fresh capital comes nearly a year after the startup raised ₹3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) in January 2025.

Funding To Support Next Phase Of Product Development

According to the company, the newly raised funds will be deployed towards completing flight qualification for its ATOM thruster series and CUBEHOOD propulsion module.

The startup also plans to expand its production and testing infrastructure while preparing for the first in-orbit demonstration of the CUBEHOOD module.

Successfully completing these milestones could position Dream Aerospace among a small group of Indian companies developing advanced propulsion systems for satellites and CubeSats.

The company believes that demonstrating the technology in space will be a critical step toward commercial adoption by satellite manufacturers and space agencies.

Building Propulsion Systems For Small Satellites

Founded in 2022 by Hari Krishnan KJ and Rogith S, Dream Aerospace is an IIT Kanpur incubated startup focused on developing green chemical propulsion systems for satellites.

The company primarily targets the global small satellite and CubeSat market, which has witnessed significant growth in recent years due to increasing demand for earth observation, communication, defence, navigation, and scientific missions.

Propulsion systems play a critical role in enabling satellites to maneuver in orbit, avoid collisions, maintain positioning, and extend mission life.

Dream Aerospace is focusing on environmentally friendly propulsion technologies designed to offer improved performance while reducing operational complexity and environmental impact.

India’s Space Sector Presents Massive Opportunity

The funding comes at a time when India’s spacetech ecosystem is witnessing unprecedented momentum.

Following policy reforms that opened the sector to private participation, several startups have emerged across launch vehicles, satellite manufacturing, propulsion systems, earth observation, and space infrastructure.

According to industry estimates, India’s space economy is projected to reach approximately $13 billion by the end of this year.

Within that ecosystem, satellite manufacturing and propulsion technologies are expected to play a crucial role as demand for low-cost and reliable space infrastructure continues to grow.

The increasing number of satellite launches globally has also created opportunities for Indian startups to develop specialized technologies that can compete internationally.

Growing Investor Interest In Indian Spacetech

Investor interest in India’s spacetech sector has accelerated significantly over the past few years.

Companies such as Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Pixxel, Dhruva Space, Bellatrix Aerospace, and Digantara have attracted substantial funding from venture capital firms and strategic investors.

Dream Aerospace is now looking to carve out its own position within the sector by focusing on propulsion technologies, one of the most critical components of satellite operations.

As the company moves toward flight qualification and in-orbit validation, the latest funding round is expected to help accelerate commercialization efforts and strengthen India’s growing capabilities in advanced space technologies.

With global demand for satellite propulsion solutions rising rapidly, Dream Aerospace aims to position itself as a key player in the next generation of space infrastructure built in India for global markets.
