Bengaluru based Physical AI startup SwitchOn has raised $8 million (around ₹78 crore) in a pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital. The fresh investment will help the company accelerate its global expansion while strengthening its AI-powered quality inspection technology for manufacturers.

The latest round marks another milestone in SwitchOn’s growth journey, following its $1.1 million seed funding and $4.2 million Series A round. As manufacturers increasingly adopt artificial intelligence to improve production efficiency and reduce defects, the company is positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving Physical AI ecosystem.

Funding to Accelerate Global Expansion and Product Innovation

SwitchOn plans to deploy the newly raised capital across three strategic priorities: expanding into international markets, strengthening research and development, and scaling its go-to-market operations.

The company intends to enhance its AI capabilities while increasing adoption of its technology across manufacturing industries worldwide. With demand for intelligent factory automation rising globally, the funding is expected to support SwitchOn’s efforts to build a stronger international presence and deepen relationships with enterprise customers.

The investment also enables the startup to continue developing advanced AI solutions that help manufacturers improve production quality and operational efficiency.

AI-Powered Quality Inspection for Modern Manufacturing

Founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, SwitchOn develops AI-powered quality inspection systems that integrate directly into manufacturing equipment.

Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, combines computer vision, edge AI, and machine learning to automatically identify defects during the production process. By performing high-speed inspections in real time, the system enables manufacturers to detect quality issues early, reduce waste, and lower production costs.

Unlike traditional manual inspections, the platform automates quality control, allowing factories to improve consistency while increasing manufacturing throughput.

Serving Global Manufacturers Across Multiple Industries

SwitchOn’s technology is currently deployed across a wide range of manufacturing sectors, including consumer goods, electronics, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

The company’s customer base includes leading global brands such as Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and ALPA. According to SwitchOn, its AI platform has been deployed across more than 170 production lines in over 60 manufacturing facilities spanning four continents.

This growing enterprise footprint demonstrates increasing demand for AI-powered factory automation as manufacturers seek to improve quality standards and operational efficiency.

Physical AI Gains Momentum Across the Startup Ecosystem

SwitchOn’s latest funding comes at a time when Physical AI is emerging as one of the fastest-growing segments within artificial intelligence.

Unlike traditional software AI, Physical AI enables machines, robots, cameras, and industrial equipment to perceive, analyze, and interact with the physical world using computer vision and intelligent automation.

Investor interest in the sector has accelerated in recent months. AI-powered security startup Hakimo recently raised $12 million, while Human Archive secured $8.2 million in seed funding. Bengaluru-based Mowito also raised $3 million in a pre-seed round to develop Physical AI foundation models for industrial robotics. Earlier this year, Neocambrian AI launched an India-focused robotics data factory to build training datasets for next-generation Physical AI models.

The increasing flow of capital into the sector reflects growing confidence that AI-driven automation will play a central role in the future of manufacturing, robotics, logistics, and industrial operations.

SwitchOn’s latest funding positions the company to capitalize on this trend by expanding its AI-powered inspection platform globally while continuing to develop technologies that support smarter factories and zero-defect manufacturing. As industries increasingly embrace intelligent automation, the startup is aiming to become a leading provider of Physical AI solutions for manufacturers worldwide.
